Family Surf Co. is the brainchild of Hayley Lawrence and Celine Bennet – two mums who put the beach and surfing at the heart of our family lives. As surfers and qualified lifeguards we bring our passion for the ocean and a sense of adventure into the surfing holidays we create. We know it’s not easy find the time and energy to hit the waves around family life. But we also believe that time out in the ocean is just what’s needed to boost your fitness and wellbeing.

As surfers and parents, we’ve made it our mission to find the finest locations for families to enjoy the active beach lifestyle and a luxury surfing experience – so we can share the lifestyle we love.

MEET CELINE

Co-founder of Family Surf Co. Swiss-born, mum of two water babies, Celine travelled the world as a pro kite-surfer in her 20s, and managed a luxury kite surfing resort in Egypt before taking up surfing and settling in Cornwall. A competitive and skilled surfer, Celine’s boundless energy and eye for technique makes her an excellent coach who is able to get the best out of every level of surfer. With a wealth of experience in the travel and tourism industry, Celine heads up the sales and customer services of Family Surf Co. having left one of Cornwall’s most luxury eco-hotels to co-found the business.

MEET HAYLEY

Co-founder of Family Surf Co. Hayley Lawrence is an ocean addict, freelance writer and mum of three groms who’ve grown up by the beach in Cornwall. Thriving on adventures in or beside the ocean, her travel writing career has taken her from island-to-island swimming adventures in Greece, to family surfing adventures across Europe, Asia and Central America. Ambassador of the Blue Health lifestyle, surf coach and wild swimmer, she’s usually found close to the beach with a van loaded with kids and surfboards, or encouraging other mums and families to hit the waves and reap the benefits of the surfing lifestyle.

MEET OLI

12 year-old Oli has grown up by the beach. As well as being surf obsessed he loves writing and drawing – he designed the artwork for his first surfboard made by Nigel Semmens. So far he’s travelled to Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Sri Lanka, Portugal, Spain, France and the Canaries. He surfs as much as possible, but it gets cold in Cornwall over winter, so he always looks forward to going to warmer destinations. Oli stays fit doing surf lifesaving and cross-country running, and he loves watching surf movies. He never travels without flip flops, his surfboard, goggles and a notebook to review Family Surf Co. locations.

MEET LEO

Leo loves photography and surfing, and as one of the FSC groms has travelled to most places in our portfolio. He’s been pushed into waves since he was toddler and has just had his first custom board made by Surfboards UK Ltd, to take on his travels to Nicaragua and Costa Rica. As well as surfing Leo is a keen on bodysurfing and swimming – an all-round waterman at just 8 years old. He never travels without a camera, snorkel, fins and a hand plane.
