The face of family surfing holidays has changed…

In the aftermath of COVID-19, many of us are staying closer to home this summer. As stay-cations rise in popularity, Family Surf Co. is creating bespoke itineraries for families on holiday in Cornwall.

We’ve taken into consideration the need for more space and social distancing while still being able to enjoy family surfing holidays to the max. So, our GIVE ME SOME SPACE itineraries offer tailormade experiences, from food deliveries to outdoor adventures. Surfing is still at the heart of our holiday experiences. We arrange private family sessions and one-to-one tuition, adhering to strict post-COVID guidelines as per advice from the Government and Surfing England. And, in addition to hitting the waves safely and in style, we can also arrange all sorts of personal adventures and days out. Plus, we’ll deliver home-cooked meals and create pop-up restaurant experiences in the comfort of your self-catering holiday home.

  • We use locally sourced produce where possible, from suppliers such as Fresh Point, Hanson Fine Food, Fruut Box and Cornish Food Box.
  • Please provide us with our shopping list and it will be ready and waiting on your arrival. The cost of your groceries will be added to the package total.

Wake up to a breakfast box delivery from DeBara bakery – including freshly baked cinnamon buns, croissants and sourdough bread.

Learn to ride the waves and have fun in the ocean with private Family Surf sessions. Excellent instructors, hightech equipment and social distancing measures mean you’ll soon be king of the surf.

A gourmet picnic lunch will be delivered to the surf school to enjoy on the beach after your surfing lesson. Fuelling you up for a self-guided coast walk – e.g. to Bedruthan Steps, stopping at Carnewas Tea Gardens.

Put your feet up back to your accommodation, and enjoy a delivery of Fizz and chips for dinner – using the freshest local fish and Cornish sparkling wine.

Explore the coastline on a coasteering with Era Adventures. Come face-to-face with wildlife and find nooks and crannies only accessible with a private guide. It’s an exhilarating adventure. Come home to a pop-up restaurant experience in your accommodation. Using one of your affiliate private chefs, we will create a restaurant experience serving the finest Cornish food in the comfort of your property.

There’s no doubt that the face of self-catering holidays has changed in the aftermath of COVID-19. But you can still enjoy the perfect holiday in Cornwall. Here are some of our top tips for staying away from the crowds:

  • Get up early to explore Cornwall before everyone else. Or have a lazy day and head out to later to enjoy an evening adventure and sunset on the coast.
  • Don’t head to the usual spots – get out a map and discover places off the beaten track.
  • Leave the car at home and venture out on foot or bike. This way you’ll avoid the busy car parks and find footpaths and coves away from the busiest attractions.
  • Stay local – don’t feel like you have to explore the whole of Cornwall on your visit, you’ll find plenty to do right on the doorstep. This year is all about micro adventures.
