Freewheeling around beautiful forests is one of our favourite family activities – especially when it’s blowing onshore at the beach. Mountain biking rewards you with fun, flowing downhill rides – often ending up at family-friendly cafés where you can fuel up on well-earned hot chocolate and cake. Much more than just a surfing adventure, here you can surf man-made waves with a mountain backdrop, then drop your board and enjoy an array adrenaline activities – indoors and out. Scale the indoor climbing wall, try your skills on the ninja assault course, whizz down the zip line or roll along the pump track. Hit the South West Coast Path

No waves? No problem. Ride the waves generated by a speed boat on the stunning Camel Estuary in Cornwall. Once you’ve learnt the ropes and got the hang of being towed along, drop the rope and ride the wave face – just like surfing.
