Morocco Overview
Morocco’s Atlantic coast is a surfer’s paradise, offering a variety of waves all levels of surfers. In the far north of Africa, yet just on the doorstep of Europe, it’s an exotic, but easy-to-get-to destination for a family surfing holiday.
You’ll find a mix of sandy beaches and point breaks along the country’s spectacular 1,200-mile coastline, inviting beginners, longboarders and expert surfers. The top spots for a family surf break include Taghazout, Agadir, Essaouira and Imsouane.
The winter months – from October to April – bring more powerful and consistent swells, and water is usually still warm enough for a 3/2mm wetsuit (16-18C). During summer the water warms up (20-23C), the waves are small with frequent flat spells, and air temperatures can be scorching – this is Africa, after all.
